Today we did a STEM project where everyone had to make catapult that launches a candy pumpkin 150 cm or farther. We had to use rubber bands, Dixie cups, plastic spoons, popsicle sticks, paper clips, clothespins, cardboard rolls, straws, and Duct Tape. Everyone had lots of fun and were really creative. Our farthest was 837 cm, and everyone else's was also really far.We had a lot of great ideas and everyone got 2 chances to make it go as far as possible. It was all really exciting and scientific. We all had to use our engineering and math skills and the outcome was awesome! -SD
Today we had some PTA members come over to our classroom to make an art project for the auction in the cafeteria during the fall fair. It was lots of fun and the outlook was amazing! Look for this masterpiece, the 5th grade artwork, and the 5th grade Spurs basket on Friday!
